Snowing In July!

I love the Cheery Lynn snowflake dies, but instead of making a wintery card in the heat of summer, I wanted to show you how versatile these dies can be for any time of the year.  I created this flower using only snowflakes.  The base was made using the 3 layers of the Geometric Snowflake, and then adding stamens with the Snowflake 5 and 7.

So, if you've been tempted to add the snowflakes to your collection, but weren't quite ready for winter, just remember to look at the dies, and let your creativity run wild!

This week, the Cheery Lynn Designs Challenge is Hot Time in the Summer (using summer colors). Be Sure to play along for your chance to win a gift certificate.  Our next release is just a couple of weeks away, and you are going to love it!

One More Christmas In July!

So do you have all of your Christmas cards finished yet? Ha, me neither! But here is one more to inspire you, using a wonderful new stamp from Hampton Art.

Supplies:
Hampton Art wood stamp - Musical Border (PS0670)
Clearsnap
Colorbox Chalk Ink: Warm Red
Colorbox Pigment Ink: Aqua
Graphic 45 Decades Antiquing Ink: Triumphant Red
Paper: October Afternoon Patterned Papers; Chipboard, Buttons,
Trim: Holiday Style
WorldWin Papers Cardstock
Baker’s Twine: The Twinery
Adhesives: GlueArts Glue Glider Pro – Perma Tac; U Cut It Dimensional Adhesive

Designer Notes:
1. Stamp the musical border with the Warm Red. Cut in a banner shape.
2. Ink the edges of all red papers with the Triumphant Red ink. Ink the edges of the blue patterned papers with the Aqua.
3. Use dimensional foam adhesive to build up the embellishment layers

Using the White Space

Today, I decided to take the challenge to try to embrace the white space on my layout.  I have to say, I'm a girl that loves to pile it on - but I think it's good to try to push yourself out of your comfort zones, and try new ideas.

Since I had the Bo Bunny Serenity papers, I thought it would be fun to pair them up with the new Spellbinders Asian Motifs and Asian Accents.  These are some of the fun new dies from this summer's CHA release.  Be sure to keep watching the Scrap-Mart store, as all of the incredible goodies from the show start coming in.  You can go ahead and place pre-orders to insure that you are among the first to get new things!
