It's Time You Knew... You're Simply Amazing

What time is it? It's time that you knew, you're simply amazing! I thought it would be really fun to replace the opening of my Cuckoo Clock with a wonderful sentiment from JustRite Stampers. All of the goodies used to create this oval card are available at Scrap-Mart.

Wedding Luminary

Did you love the new release of dies from Cherry Lynn yesterday? I thought so! I do too!  I've got a second project to share with you today - a Wedding Luminary.

I used Worldwin Papers new Twist -Silver - (which is a heavy woven textured cardstock with a shattered/Tyvek appearance) to make the cuts on my luminary, and Worldwin's 48 LB Translucent Vellum for the lining and the flowers. After I cut each of the four silver panels for my box, I cut the vellum backing, but made the sides 1/4" larger, so I could score them, and put them together using Scor-Tape.

The tag was stamped using JustRite Stamps Nested Wedding Sentiments and the Victorian Frames.

Here's how it looks lit with a candle -

Here you can see some of the new Cheery Lynn windows in action.

...and finally, the back of the luminary.

Cheery Lynn Designs New Release!

If you are like me, you have been counting down the minutes until the new Cheery Lynn Designs new release, and the great news is that it's here!  This is a picture of my great-great Aunt, who owned a dress shop - so she was always very fashionable. I used a bunch of the new dies on this layout, so you bettter get your shopping list handy, because you are going to want to add these to it.  The new Build a Flower series is nothing short of spectacular!  This first set was designed to create big, beautiful clematis blooms, but the parts will be able to be mixed with future dies to create many wonderful flowers.  One of the things I love most about these petals, is the fact that they have some embossed distressed patterns to them, which makes shaping them a dream. I also used the Princess Tree as a flower filler instead of a tree.  To make my "buds" purple, I cut to images, one green and one purple.  I cut the buds from the green tree and then simply glued the green over the purple.  It's a really quick and easy way to add details. I made multiple cuts of the Flourish Band and tucked them behind my water distressed paper, along the edges of my base cardstock. The Scottish Thistle Doily shows up so well, thanks to the Angel Wing that is included to cut the shadow background.

A Mother's Love

Yesterday, we celebrated Mother's Day. Although I never had the privilege to become a mom myself, I do have the opportunity to watch my sister every day, pour out love and attention to her two boys.  She is a beutifully devout mommy, and it's just one more reason that I love and respect her. So, I created this very girly layout, featuring Cheery Lynn Designs dies,  to honor her.

The picture was framed with the Victoria Garden Doily Frame. I tucked the inner portion of the Sophia's Heart Doily behind the picture. The flower and leaf was from Judy's Blooms, with greenery from Pair of Ferns and Olive Branches. The vertical border was cut with Border Carnivale.  My banner was created using the small round doily from the Polynesian Sails Oval die. They were decorated with the Miniature Roses and more greenery.  Finally, my title was created with Lace Script Font M and L - while the rest of the title was made using alphabet stickers.

Remember, be sure to check back tomorrow to see the BIG reveal of the new dies for Cheery Lynn Designs.  I'm so excited to share them with you!  Also, remember, for your chance to win a $20 gift certificate to the Cheery Lynn Designs store, you will want to play along with our weekly challenge.  This week the theme is Bling It Up (easy enough!)
