A Little Paperclay Love

It's time for my last post on the Creative Paperclay Design Team. It's been a fun six months, and I appreciate the opportunity to work with this company.  For my final project, I created a  shabby card. I molded an antique celluloid buckle  using Amazing Mold Putty, and then cast my Paperclay in the mold. I used Terri Sproul Mixers and Sakura Crystal Lacquer to paint my "vase" and added some paper blooms.  The sentiment was stamped with Hampton Art Graphic Love.

I hope I have inspired you to try adding some Creative Paperclay to your repertoire over the last few months!

Welcome {Spring}

Spring not only brings warmer weather and beautiful flowers, but often it brings brighter colors to our creative palate.

I thought this large wooden birdcage (18" x 9") from Kaisercraft would be more fun to decorate my door than a typical wreath.  And of course, I needed lots of beautiful flowers made with my Cheery Lynn Designs dies to decorate it.

The vine was created by putting two Mega Fanciful Flourish die cuts together.
The roses were made using the Miniature Rose, Medium Rose, and the Large Rose.  If you don't know how to combine these 3 sizes of flowers into one stunning rose, then check out that tutorial that Sandy Hulsart wrote, for very clear directions.  The name of the paper collection that I used for this project is Tiger Lily - so I thought I needed some name-sake flowers on this project (although mine remind me more of the Wild Azaleas that bloom around here).  I cut the Stacker Flower Three, and then painted a bright orange Creative Inspirations Paint around the center of the flower.  After that was dry, I spritzed it with Smooch, to create the distinct markings.  I rolled each petal around a paintbrush, and then used a little embroidery floss for the stamens.  The Aster Daisies were made with two layers of  Stacker Flower Four and resin flowers for the centers.

I hope you have been inspired to try using your Cheery Lynn Designs die cuts on all kinds of projects! It's always fun to think outside of the box. The challenge this week at the Cheery Lynn Challenge Blog is For Mom - don't you think this would make a lovely gift for Mother's Day?
