Scor-Pal and American Crafts Blog Hop

The Scor-pal DT has teamed up with American Crafts to bring you a blog hop that is sure to inspire! You will want to start at the Scor-Pal Blog to see the full list of designers as well as the prizes that are being offered. When I saw all of the adorable accessories that went with the Garden Cafe line, I knew that these little paper strawberries would be a fun way to welcome spring! I

The strawberry template came from the Whiff of Joy blog.  I just used the template, and scored all of the folds with my Scor-pal.  I used a Crop-o-dile to punch the holes at the top of each "petal" and then Scor-tape held the tab firmly in place. The Twinery's Baker's twine  was used to lace the top together.  The strawberry top was made using  a Punch Bunch Cherry Blossom punch instead of the template provided.. The strings were drawn together and pulled through the leafy top, and tied in a bow.

The box that holds the strawberries was made using the Christmas Treats Basket Tutorial from Scor-pal. It is such a quick but cute basket to put together, and was a great canvas to add some of the AC dimensional stickers.

We hope you will enjoy this hop!

Inspiration from Scrap-Mart

I love when spring awakens and chases winter away. I think that is why I am so fond of any stamps with birds and nests. Today's card uses a wonderful stamp from La Blanche. Have you seen all of these wonderful stamps at Scrap-Mart? If you've never tried these stamps, you are going to fall in love. They are a foam mounted silicone stamp, that gives you great detail. After I stamped the image, I colored it with water color pencils and used the new Tim Holtz detail water brush. I've had a water brush for years, but his new shapes are a great addition to my studio. I inked the background using Distress Inks, and then misted it with Lindy's Stamp Gang Ink Sprays in Buccaneer Bay Blue (which is my favorite color!). I then painted a coat of crackle medium over it, and let it dry completely. I added just a little bit of the Distress Stains in Broken China. All of these fun steps lead to a stamp with tons of depth. I added die-cuts to frame the oval from Spellbinder's Damask Motifs and Damask Accents. The patterned papers are Graphic 45's Curtain Call.

I hope you will check out some of these fun new products that are arriving daily at Scrap-Mart.
