Happy Birthday Butterfly

I just want to let you know, that I am over the moon for Kanban Crafts papers! I made this card last night, and it was such a breeze to put together! The papers are thick and luxurious - and the diecuts are a dream to work with.

Here's what I used on this card:

Bella Cakes Toffee PCT 9969

Sparkle Glaze Farfalla – Beige CRD9760

Autumn Leaves – copper SCR9038

Autumn Butterflies – Teal PCT9460

A Little Bubbly!

Shaped cards are really fun to make, and can have a big impact. This wine glass and bottle is from Flower Soft, but I decided to jazz it up a little using Sakura Crystal Lacquer. When, I noticed the wine in the glass, it was a given for me that I would like to add a layer of Crystal Lacquer over it, to make it look like liquid. To further embellish things, I made a medallion/greeting for the bottle. I stamped my image onto cardstock. Then I used the Copper Lacquer to trace over the lines of the stamp. The metallic lacquers are thicker than the clear and colored ones, so it really added some height. I let this dry completely, then I covered over the area with congratulations using the Cerise Lacquer. Again, I let this dry, and then covered the entire thing with a coat of Crystal Lacquer. It almost looks like Cloisonne when it's dry.

Pumpkin Goo!

This week, Epiphany Crafts has been hopping with Clearsnap, for some great autumn fun! I thought this would be the perfect time to make a layout of one of my favorite fall traditions....making Pumpkin Goo with my nephew. Now mind you, this recipe has the proper name of Pumpkin Fluff, but the first time my nephew ate this (and loved it!) he gave it the new, and somewhat less appealing name of Pumpkin Goo.

I used the die cut leaves as a mask for my cardstock, and misted over them with the Clearsnap Smooch Spritz. Later, I added more spritzing to the leaves and arranged them on the layout.

I painted a small pumpkin with acrylic paints, the same size as the Round Bubble Caps 25, and then free-hand cut a stem for the top of the pumpkin.

Santa Claus Is Coming to Town

Are you still seeing double at the Beary Scrap? That's because our Double or Nothing Challenge is still going on! I've got a whimsical Christmas Card to share with you today. Don't you think the 12 Days of Christmas papers from My Mind's Eye need to be used for this kind of holiday fun? My adorable Santa 's Truck with Tree die is from the very newest release from Cottage Cutz Dies. It was so fun to add some of the patterned papers to my truck's piecing. And with a little ingenuity, I used the Holiday Doily die to add a border to my circle. Finally, a "borrowed" the sentiment stamp from the Boxwood Vine Wreath set, so I could wish you Merry Christmas!

Crafty Secrets Design Team Gift Bag/Envelope Challenge

Are you getting lots of fun gift bag ideas from the Crafty Secret Girls? I hope so! I chose a Thanksgiving theme for my set. I thought it would be fun to make my baggie hold pencils, that have paper wrapped around them, with something that I'm thankful for written on each one.

I used the Thanksgiving Set and the only problem I had was deciding which of the images to use from the stamp set, because they are all so wonderful!

If you would like to try making a gift bag from any envelope, here is the link to the video.

I know you are going to want to see what the rest of the design team came up with, so here's a list of everyone, so you can check it out! Keep your notepad handy, cause I'm sure you are going to want to start your shopping list! So when you finish, you can head to the Crafty Secrets website and get some Crafty Secrets goodies delivered to you! And to make sure you don't miss anything, why not subscribe to the Heartwarming Vintage Blog? There's always lots of inspiration, announcements and giveaways.
