Layout to share

This was a layout I made for the April issue of SNR magazine. It's my grandparents on their wedding day formally admiring their wedding presents. I misted and stamped on the GCD Studios paper, and added vintage buttons, lace and embellished chipboard.

Flower Soft Ovals Challenge

We have an easy challenge for you at Flower Soft - Ovals. I played with the Charlie's Ark 3D Fun and Flowers card toppers. This set makes it so easy to get a great paper tole finish. As I added the layers, I used McGill Flower Shaping tools/mat to give the paper some dimension. I used Flower Soft Meadow for the grass, and Polar White for the dandelions.

If you want to play along, just upload your card and tag it as FSC29. The winner will get their choice of four colors of Flower Soft.

If you want another challenge, don't forget our Flower Soft Spring Challenge - with over $200 worth of goodies up for grabs. You can enter as many times as you would like between now and May 31st. Check all of the details on our blog.

Unity Friends with Flair

It's Friday- which means it's time for another Unity Friends With Flair. There is always so much inspiration! I used the Unity Sketch for the month - and stamped a couple of images from the May '11 KOM. The papers are from Echo Park - and of course, I had to add a big seam binding bow!

Chapel Road Challenge

It's time for another challenge at Chapel Road Art Stamps! We had been going to do altered item +male, but we made it a little easier on you, and the theme is masculine. So, You know I love experimenting - and this seemed like the perfect opportunity to try a canvas. My main image is from Northern River. I colored it using watercolor pencils. I love how it looks like an antique painting. I also embossed the Ferns. I layered papers, inked them, added gold leaf and even red tissue flowers. I hope you enjoy looking at this as well as the other lovely creations the rest of the DT came up with. We would love for you to play along, for you chance to win a Chapel Road stamp of your choice. You don't have to use one of our stamps to play along, but, if you do, you will be entered twice.

The Beary Scrap - Back to Nature

It's back to nature at the Beary Scrap. For me - the first thing that springs to mind is flowers. I've loved studying about flowers since I was a pre-schooler, so making handmade flowers is right up my alley.

I decided to share with you a different type of project. I made a pin. (Now, I'm not promising this won't end up on a layout, but for now, it's a wearable pin). I am so in love with the seam binding that Kimm is carrying in the store - and if you haven't tried it yet, you will fall in love too! I mixed two colors on my flower - Apricot and Melon. My center button is a custom epoxy I made using Cosmo Cricket's Salt Air and the Epiphany Craft 14 mm round tool and Vintage Setting. For my leaf flourish, I used a Heartfelt Creations/ Spellbinders die - and cut it out of grunge paper. I painted it using Distress Crackle paint. Then, cut out patterned paper form the Salt Air line, added some Distress Ink in Shabby Shutters and glued on top.

This challenge will go through the end of the month, so we would love to have you play along!

Chapel Road Stamps Inspiration

Blogger gave everyone fits last week - including me! I normally share some Chapel Road inspiration with you on Fridays, but it's coming to you live on Monday this week. The Design Team is continuing our masculine theme for the month. I used the Wonderful World stamp. It has such a cool, masculine collage theme. I embossed the image, and then used Glimmer Mist to color the background.

The Class Act challenge has two more days for you to get your entry in - the theme is masculine plus stitching. Pretty easy, huh? And you could win your choice of a stamp.

Happy Birthday Waltzing Mouse!

Waltzing Mouse has some of the cutest stamps around - but they also have some adorable templates - including this Cuppy-Love. I added a Frayed Flower and Round Epoxy from Epiphany Crafts as the cherry on my cupcake.
