Did some one say Sparkle?

Yes, they did, at Flourishes! I love sparkly and always have! So, I pulled out all of the stops on the peacock. First, I stamped the image and embossed with metallic blue. Then I oversprayed the image with Tattered Angels and colored with my copics. I used handmade Japanese paper with metallic gold swirls, antique metallic lace, Swarovski crystals, bronze UTEE, an antique beaded flower, glitter paper. I told you- I love sparkly! But, what I really like, is the patina that old shiney things aquire. And that's what I was going for here. I wanted it to look like you just found this buried treasure, that has only gotten more beautiful in time.

I used the sketch from Crafting Life's Pieces, and was really inspired by all of Chelsea's details. I also thought this card was appropriate for the Stamping Sister's in Christ Challenge, to show nature praising God. I can't think of another creature that is as magnificent as the peacock.

Hope you enjoy!

Different Kind of Halloween Card

There is a new challenge blog on the net, Saturday Spotlight with Hidden Potential. Their first challenge is to make a Halloween card, but not use your Halloween images. I used my cheerful Cuttlebug folder, bird call, and turned it kind of spooky, by adding Glimmer mist black gold and suede over the top of the letterpressed image. I added sparkly detail with copic spicas. I used the sketch from CPS (turned on it's side). It's fun to think outside of the box! What do you have laying around your scrap area that you could re-purpose?

Simon Says Boo!

Simon Says....Make a Halloween card- So here it is! You know I love using Mo's images, and this little trick-or-treater is no exception. The sketch is from 2 Sketches 4 You, and worked perfectly with this image. I used the diamond plate Cuttlebug folder, so this worked out perfectly for the Cuttlebug Challenge of the week as well.

Tea for Two

This is one of the newest images from Mo's Digital Pencil, so I thought it fitting to use it for the new M's Digital Challenge. The first challenge is to use purple in honor of Bella and Bronte's favorite color. I used the sketch of the week from Priscilla's Midnight Madness Challenge (One of my favorites to play!). At the Copic Buzz this week, the challenge was to color some of your embellishments with your copics. I used the copic airbrush system to color my grosgrain ribbon purple and I colored the pearl centers of my handmade flowers directly with the copics. Finally, this is another entry for the coloring challenge at DCRU -Design Team challenge. While you are over at Die Cuts R Us - bookmark them to check out their digi-stamp reveal on this Tuesday, Oct. 13th.

Kellie's Awesome Candy - Ends Oct 31st

Kellie has opened a store for Magnolia lovers and to celebrate is giving some incredible blog candy. Hop on over to the Magnolia Down Under blog to enter to win, and check out her store to get your Magnolia fix.

Red and Green

Simon Says make a card with red and green, but I was not quite ready to make Christmas cards yet (It is just early October!) So I made this cheerful cherry card so I can try to pretend the winter is not just around the corner!

Think Pink!

To celebrate National Breast Cancer Month, many challenges this week are incorporating pink, or ribbons, or breast cancer awareness themes. I used this adorable stamp set from Flourishes, Think Pink - I love it, because it has the ribbon hidden in some very girly items, like this flouncy dress. I colored this image with my copics (see DCRU challenge this week for coloring). My sketch is from Tuesday Morning Sketches. Melissa's sister is a breast cancer survivor, so this is a cause that hit's very close to home for their family. The Cuttlebug Spot joins in with their support by a Pretty in Pink challenge.

I have to tell you, I had my first mammogram a couple of months ago. I was really worried that is would be a scary experience (and I am a big baby at the doctor's). Ladies, it was so easy!!! So, if you have not had one because you think it will be awful, think again. Please get checked and encourage your friends to do the same!

The images of our children are brought to life by the super talented Crissy Armstrong!! YEAH!!!

I have been making cards all day long for World Card Making Day, and this is the final one for the night. This adorable image is from Sew Many Cards.
